5th Annual Empty Bowls Community Dinner and Fundraiser

Eat Soup. Fight Hunger.

On Friday April 13th, nearly 400 community members gathered at our 5th annual Empty Bowls event to eat soup and fight hunger.

This event raised $7,000 to help our glean team make good use of agricultural excess, reduce hunger and improve nutrition.

What is Empty Bowls?

Empty Bowls is The Gleaning Project of South Central PA’s annual community dinner and fundraiser. For a suggested $20 donation, we invite guests to select one of hundreds of beautiful ceramic bowls donated by local artists. Attendees fill their bowls and their bellies with dozens of varieties of locally made soup. They enjoy live music, good conversation, and take their bowl home to remember those whose bowls remain empty in our community. 

All proceeds support The Gleaning Project of South Central PA's efforts to make good use of agricultural excess, reduce hunger, and improve nutrition in Adams County, PA.
