A week full of awareness, advocacy and action raising events. Help us confront a global problem with local solutions!
Stay tuned for blog posts to learn more about our generous grower-donors and community partners that help us get fresh produce to food insecure families.
Here are some other ways to get involved:
Help package potatoes into family sized bags on Monday 10/15 from 2pm-3:30pm at SCCAP (153 N. Stratton St. Gettysburg). We’ll distribute these bags to food insecure families in our community. RSVP to thegleaningproject@gmail.com
Glean apples on Tuesday 10/16 from 5pm-6:30pm at Adams County Nursery (26 Nursery Rd. Aspers). Meet at the main headquarters and we’ll drive out to the orchard together. RSVP to thegleaningproject@gmail.com
Donate non-perishable food items to the SCCAP Food Pantry (153 N. Stratton Gettysburg) as part of the United Way’s annual Bag the Bounty drive. We accept donations all year long, but if you stop by on Wednesday 10/17 between 12pm-4pm we’ll give you a sample of freshly pressed apple cider!
Stop by Fall Empty Bowls on Thursday 10/18 from 4pm-6pm at the Adams County Farmers Market. More details here.
Sign up for an apple preservation class at Campus Kitchens (153 N. Stratton Gettysburg). Join us Friday 10/19 between 9:30am-12:30pm. RSVP required to thegleaningproject@gmail.com.
